Professor Masood Khalique

Chaudry Masood Khalique received his MSc and PhD degrees (Mathematics) from the University of Dundee, Scotland, in 1976 and 1979, respectively, under the guidance of Prof W N Everitt. He joined the University of Botswana and Swaziland in 1980 and later moved to University of Bophuthatswana (presently North-West University, Mafikeng Campus, South Africa) in 1986. Presently he is a full professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences and is heading the International Institute for Symmetry Analysis and Mathematical Modelling at North-West University, Mafikeng Campus. He has supervised 5 PhD and 16 Masters students to date, with 3 more currently supervised, as well as serving as the mentor to 4 postdocs.

His research interests are Symmetry and operator approaches to differential equations and applications of Lie group methods to differential equations of mathematical physics and finance. He has published more than 150 research articles in various international peer-reviewed research journals with high impact factors and has delivered research talks at many international conferences. He is on the Editorial boards of 8 international journals and has reviewed several research papers for more than 50 academic journals.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, UK, and a Member of American Mathematical Society, USA, London Mathematical Society, UK, South African Mathematical Society, RSA, and Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, USA.
